Custom Shoulder Bolt for Rover Stability

Manufactured component to fix rover tilt caused from a moment arm issue.

Tilt correction

Our frame had a 7° tilt due to insufficient effective length between the transfer bar and ball-joint end bearing, causing uneven load distribution.

Shoulder Bolt Design

Designed a custom shoulder bolt to increase the attachment length and redistribute forces, improving suspension alignment and overall rover stability.

Bolt Assembly

Modeled the shoulder bolt and mating assembly in SolidWorks and produced manufacturing and assembly drawings to ensure proper fit, manufacturability, and integration.
